Nobody buys a Fendt by accident. They cost more than the alternatives and the people who run them know exactly why they paid a premium: the Vario transmission, the build quality, and a resale value that makes the whole thing work. Which is also why Fendt owners tend to be the ones asking hardest what else the machine is capable of. All this means these machines deserve to be run at their best.
Mapped Across The Range
We have been remapping Fendt equipment since 2014. Our platform covers the 200, 300, 400 and 500 Vario ranges, the 700, 800 and 900 Varios that do most of the heavy work on British farms, the 1000 Vario at the top of the range, the Katana foragers, and the 5000, 6000, 8000 and 9000 Series combines along with the C, E, L, P and X Series. Every calibration is written in-house by our UK R&D team for the specific engine and model.
The Smart Business Case For Fendt Remapping
Fendts work hard. Most of the ones we see belong to contractors and larger arable farms putting serious hours on the clock every year, and at that level fuel is easily the biggest running cost. By adjusting injection pressure and timing, we improve fuel efficiency by between 5% and 15% on most machines. The savings show up most where the engine is under constant load: heavy cultivation, ploughing in difficult ground, heavy hauling.
Torque behaves differently on a Vario, and this is worth understanding; essentially, there is no gear to drop. When the draft increases, the transmission simply changes ratio to protect engine speed, and your forward speed drops with it. Give the engine more torque, and it holds on through that patch instead, so the ratio stays where it was and your ground speed does too. Operators describe it as the tractor stopping backing off. Over the course of a day's work, it is the difference between finishing the field and coming back to it.
There is a resale argument too, and for Fendt it matters more than for most. These tractors hold their value, so anything you do needs to be reversible. Your original map stays on our server and can be restored whenever you want, which means the machine you eventually sell can be reset to its factory calibration.
For a smaller farm running one Fendt as the main tractor, the case is simpler. You bought the best machine you could justify, and remapping gets more out of it without having to buy another one.
Importantly, none of the improvements come at the cost of reliability. We always calibrate within the safe operating limits of the engine and the Vario behind it, because there is no sense in increasing torque the transmission was never specified to handle. Every remap starts with a full diagnostic health check; the original map is backed up before we touch anything, and the software carries a lifetime warranty against malfunction.
Understanding Fendt Engine Platforms
Fendt sits within AGCO and draws its engines from several places: AGCO Power units in the smaller Varios, Deutz-built blocks through the middle and upper ranges, and a 12.4-litre MAN in the 1000 Vario. What matters for remapping is not the badge on the machine, but how few engines Fendt use to cover as much of the range as possible.
Release The Full Potential
The 6.1-litre makes the point better than any other. It starts at 132hp in the 712 Vario, runs up through the 700 range to 237hp in the 724, and then carries the entire 800 range to 280hp in the 828. One block, many common internals, and close to 150hp separating the bottom of that spread from the top. The 714 Vario settles it on its own: we hold calibrations for that single model at both 150hp and 167hp. Same tractor, same engine, different software.
The 7.8-litre does the same thing further up. It appears at 210hp in the 924 and at 390hp in the 939, with four ratings in between. If an engine can be sold at 390hp, the 270hp version of it is not working anywhere near its limit.
At the top of the range, the pattern holds. The 12.4-litre MAN in the 1000 Vario is sold at 396hp in the 1038 and at 517hp in the 1050, and the two tractors either side of them fill in the gaps. Our calibration takes a 1050 to 600hp and 2,830Nm, which gives some idea of what that engine was built to withstand before Fendt decided where to stop.
That headroom is real, but it is not infinite, and it is not the only consideration. The Vario, the axles, and the linkage all have design limits of their own, and a calibration that ignores them is one that costs somebody a transmission. Finding where the headroom actually ends is the job.

How We Remap Your Fendt
The Health Check First
Every job starts with a full diagnostic health check. If there is a fault on the machine, we want to know before we touch the software. Once it has a clean bill of health, we back up the original map to our own server, so the tractor can be returned to its factory calibration if required.
Connect And Calibrate
The calibration is performed via the OBD port on most Fendt machines, though some ECUs require bench access. Your agent will confirm which applies when the work is booked. Most installations are completed within a few hours.
PTO Power Verification
Where possible, we then verify the result on a PTO dynamometer. Many of our agents can PTO-test on-site, so the machine does not need to be moved. Where our agent can’t perform a dynamometer test, you can still be assured that you’re getting the advertised figures because all our maps are fully tested and measured by our UK R&D team.
Quick, Clean & Reversible
Usually, the remap happens at your yard or farm and is carried out by one of our local authorised agents. This guarantees machines are back to work within hours. If you're near to our HQ, just outside Bristol, you can bring the machine to us and our team will carry out the work, including a test and readout on our dyno.
Flexible Service For Fendt Operators
Most Fendt remaps are carried out on the farm. We have a network of 400+ trained and authorised agents across the UK and internationally, and your local agent arrives with everything needed for the diagnostic check and the install. Many of our agents can also carry out a dynamometer PTO verification. In the middle of drilling or harvest, that matters, because the tractor is back at work the same day.
If you are based in the South West, or not too far from our HQ just outside Bristol, you are welcome to bring the machine to us. Our workshop has full dyno facilities, and you get direct access to the R&D team who wrote the calibration.

Common Questions About Fendt Remapping
A remap is a modification to the engine software and manufacturers can decline warranty claims relating to it. Most of the machines we work on are past the manufacturer warranty period. If yours is still inside it, speak to your dealer first and then to us, and we will tell you whether it is worth waiting.
No. The Vario is designed around a defined torque input and we calibrate inside it. We will not write a map that puts more through the transmission than it was specified to carry, even where the engine could produce it. Protecting the driveline is part of the job.
No. We work within the safe operating limits of the engine and everything behind it. Every job begins with a diagnostic health check, and if the machine has a problem we will tell you before we touch the software.
Between 5% and 15% on most machines. The biggest savings come from engines that spend their working life under load, so heavy cultivation and loaded haulage show it soonest. Light work on a big tractor will show less.
